Roe for Change

During 2022, Words for Change launched as Roe for Change, a youth-led coalition seeking to protest the reversal of Roe v. Wade in June 2022. Incensed and confused following the overturning, we planted the seeds that would become the first intergenerational movement for reproductive justice in the Bay Area. Roe for Change focused on intertwining poetry, specifically spoken word, and activism to fight for our cause. Our organized advocacy and outreach culminated in a rally at the Redwood City Public Library in October where speakers and poets alike took to the mic to express their concerns.
